Fluff up the Fruit Bowl!

We have our first review from expats.cz! Fringe Review!

A good way to start the week for sure, but there are 5 more performances to go and, as seen so far, anything can happen!  One of these nights I may succeed in remembering everything Andrea wrote :)

However, I am finding new things in the text every night which makes a good back and forth with the audience.  We won for overall pre-sale tickets last night: 4!  And with a positive review, hopefully the rest of the week will put more bums in those seats!

Rock.

Divaldo Kampa!

Our lovely theater space in Kampa Park!
Liam writing cues with sleeping Czech dog in the house.
Liam scrubbing the grime from the recycling plant...cuz I have to sit in it...naked.  Who does this?

Really excited to clean the tub.  Thank you Giles and Madla for fetching it for me!
The theater from model's point of view.

View from our bedroom window overlooking the Tyn Church in Old Town Square.
Sun setting behind the gate of Charles Bridge.

After about 10 months of collaboration, raising funds, and hard-time memorization, we debut this lil' show of ours!  Cross your fingers the actor doesn't get a tomato in the punum!  Deep breaths...More to come as we make our way through 9 performances this coming week!

Yon tub awaits!

That's right, folks! The lovely men of the Prague Fringe swiped me a tub that awaits my inspection at Divadlo Kampa! Things seem to be coming together. Now I just need my director, who arrives today at 4! Apparently there is a bummer however: I just heard that due to the cranky terrain of Iceland, some companies have had to pull out of the festival. Major bummer. But hopefully it won't put too much of a damper on things! At least "Human Fruit Bowl" is rarin' to go!
Photos to come (as requested by some of you). And now to reconnect with my favorite city.

Venice, you cheeky lady

video
In Venezia for a spell. The weather is hot and I forgot sunblock, so chances are that my nudie self may look like an unevenly cooked lobster on stage. That should add some color to this artistic show! Update on bathtub: might actually get one-thanks to TD Giles and Ryan from another Fringe company. Planning to arrive in Prague earlier than originally expected to maximize chances of obtaining this Holy-Grail-of-a-tub. Sam is lost in a Titian painting so I shall nap and await dinner which will undoubtedly be molto tasty. Now have an unbelievable urge to learn Italian (kind of in that annoying "Eat, Pray, Love" kinda way).

Ciao for now.

Cuz Oscar Meyer has a way with BOLOGNA

Sam and I are headed to Bologna, with a short pit stop in London tomorrow, for our first leg of this crazy European trip!  Then on to Venice for a few days and planning to arrive in Prague a week from Wednesday to start getting HUMAN FRUIT BOWL on it's feet!  Director, Liam, heads out Tuesday the 24th!  The biggest concern I have right this second is: do I have enough programs for the show?  Otherwise, just waiting (as patiently as I know how) to get on the subway to JFK!

Tally ho!

Fruit Bowl in Tow

Human Fruit Bowl (written by Andrea Kuchlewska) debuts in less than 2 weeks in Prague!  I leave for Europe in t-minus 3 days!  With the play finally in my saturated brain, one can only hope to find a bathtub in the Czech Republic to bring it all together.  With the help of our 71+ donors, my friend and director, Liam Billingham, will be accompanying me for this theatrical extravaganza!  Also among my fellow travelers will be my painter boyfriend, Sam, (whose painting will also be making its international debut in Human Fruit Bowl), my mother, sister, aunt, uncle and gal pal, Megan Tree O'Connor who will be featured in Safe Mode's Production of Sam?, also in Fringe Praha.  This should prove to be quite the jolly romp!

Stay tuned for performance updates of what will, hopefully, be a hit at the Prague Fringe!

Sincerely anxious and thrilled,
Harmony Stempel, The Human Fruit Bowl
